Matriculation is the first major exam and a significant milestone that any student faces. With the declaration of matric results (Class X) of Bihar Secondary Education Board (BSEB), we have impressive figures and statistics around the education being imparted to our students at our smart classrooms, known more popularly as Schooglink Grassroots Centres.
It is noteworthy that a significant number of students belong to rural India, or Bharat, as it coming to be known as. About 85% of the 1.45 Million schools in India lie in the rural belts and 90% of the 260 MiIlion school going students go to various State Boards. While the students in Urban India have a number of options to choose from when it comes to good quality education, Rural India is still struggling.
Schooglink has built a hybrid model, with an online platform and an offline, foot on the ground network, to assist rural students, to use these technologies. This model is known as Schooglink Grassroots Centres, where the students can study with the vernacular online content, created by various subject experts of various boards, in technology-enabled classrooms, which is assisted by young Schooglink Grassroots Teaching Assistants.
The Schooglink Grassroots Centres help the students afford quality education with new technologies and also provide a good employment opportunity to the educated youth of the area, to work with us as full time Teachers and Grassroots Operators (part of the ground operations management team).
Schooglink Grassroots Centres have been functioning for the past two years, significantly improving results of the students.
We continue to better our results and look forward to expanding our footprint across rural India in the years to come.
